Pre-update Harrier Luxury shown
The XU80 has been updated in Malaysia for model year 2023, concerning its safety features and adding a new variant called the Luxury SE. Prices have seen a 5.8 percent increase for the Luxury variant (now priced from RM 274,000, up from RM 259,000), while the newly-introduced Luxury SE retails from RM 277,000.
Slight safety updates

Key improvements include a Panoramic View Monitor and updated Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), with overall improvements to the SUV’s Pre-Collision Brake detection system, as well as to Lane Departure Alert, and its Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Beyond that, the spec-sheet remains the same as it was before, with the SE variant adding a little more choice cosmetic touches. This means the leather trim on the door cards are dual-tone black-and-brown (compared to just black in the non-SE), and the seats too get the same colourway.
Special Edition Red Metallic
You can have your SE in just the one colour – the aptly-named Special Edition Red Metallic.
What stays the same?
Those just about round up what’s new in the fully-imported (CBU Japan) Toyota Harrier in Malaysia. Powertrain is left untouched, the M20A-FKS naturally-aspirated (NA) 2.0-litre soldiers on, working alongside the Direct Shift CVT-type automatic transmission. Horsepower and torque figures still stand at 173 PS and 203 Nm, respectively.
Steel Blonde Metallic is a lovely colour
Other standard exterior and interior kit – the Bi-LED headlights, rear light bar, leather seats, and Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 active safety (ADAS) – are still maintained. Five colours are available still for the Luxury variant, between Precious Black, Dark Blue Metallic, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Steel Blonde Metallic, and Slate Gray Metallic.
Aftersales-wise, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) backs the XU80 Harrier with a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
