Following the release of pricing for its hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, South Korean automaker Kia has completed the Niro hatchback pricing lineup with the 2023 Niro EV. The electric vehicle’s base Wind trim will start at $40,745 (all prices include destination) and its higher Wave trim at $45,745.
Redesigned for 2023 with upgraded styling and a larger cabin, the Niro EV is powered by a 64.8-kilowatt-hour battery and 150-kilowatt motor rated at 201 horsepower. DC fast charging is standard and enables the vehicle to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 45 minutes; range tops out at an EPA-estimated 253 miles.

Regardless of which trim you choose, the Niro’s exterior features sleek lines, Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille and an “Aero Blade” accent panel at its rear. The interior uses sustainable materials we found classy for a mainstream compact, and it features available dual 10.25-inch screens and ambient mood lighting. For the Niro EV, a Preserve Package adds heated rear seats. Standard safety features include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-following assist, blind spot collision monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and more.
The 2023 Kia Niro EV is expected to arrive at dealers before the end of October in all 50 states.
