Hyundai has commenced the deliveries of the 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan in India and the South Korean car manufacturer is aiming for ‘2X’ sales for its latest sedan in the country.
Prices for the newly launched 6th generation Hyundai Verna sedan starts from Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Thanks to its aggressive pricing, the 2023 Hyundai Verna has undercut its primary rivals such as the Honda City facelift, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.
Apart from that, Hyundai Motor India has already bagged more than 8,000 bookings for its latest sedan, and we expect these numbers to grow rapidly in the coming weeks as well.
Like previous generation Verna sedans, the 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan also comes loaded with many features including a few first-in-segment features such as powered driver seats, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Some of the noteworthy features on the new sedan include a 10.25-inch infotainment unit, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity, rear AC vents, a digital instrument cluster, smart boot, an electric sunroof, auto climate control, steering-mounted control, cooled glove box, tilt-and-telescopic steering and much more.
Hyundai has also stepped up its game in terms of safety with more than 65 safety features. Some of these safety systems include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX mounting points, automatic headlamps, burglar alarm, impact-sensing auto door unlock, speed-sensing auto door lock, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Level-2 ADAS.
Speaking of ADAS, The Level 2 ADAS in the new Verna comes with active safety systems such as Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, High-Beam Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance assist, Lead Vehicle Departure Alert, Driver Attention Warning and much more.
Coming to the powertrain, the 2023 Hyundai Verna comes with two petrol engine options. The ‘1.5 Turbo’ engine features a turbocharged, 1.5-litre engine with 157.8bhp of power and 253Nm of torque. This engine can be specified with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
On the other hand, the base powertrain is a the familiar 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 114bhp of power and 144Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox.
Thoughts About The New 2023 Hyundai Verna
With an aggressive price tag, powerful engine option, and long feature list, the latest iteration of the Hyundai Verna has all the necessary tools to attract buyers in the segment. However, in order to achieve ‘2X’ sales, Hyundai must make sure the waiting period on the model is on the reasonable side.
