Honda Cars India has shared the teaser image of the facelifted version of the 2023 Honda City ahead of its launch which has been scheduled to take place on March 2.
Looking at the teaser image of the 2023 Honda City, the facelifted version of the Japanese sedan sports a few subtle changes and these changes make the upcoming iteration of the sedan look a bit sharper and more modern.
Diving into details, the front bumper and the grille on the 2023 Honda City have been updated and now looks very sporty. Further complimenting this sportier look is the sleeker-looking chrome slat that sits above the front grille.
However, other design elements such as the headlights, ORVMs, and alloy wheels look similar to the outgoing model. That being said, we expect the upcoming 2023 Honda City to sport a few changes on the inside as well.
As such, it is safe to expect updates such as new upholstery, wireless charging pad, ambient lighting and possibly ventilated seats as well. That being said, the updated model will continue to come with the same 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 7-inch TFT instrument display.
In terms of powertrain, the updated model will continue to be offered with two engine options. However, these two engine options will be updated to meet the upcoming and more stringent BS-6 2 emission norms.
At present, the 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine puts out 120bhp of peak power and 145Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, this engine can be specified with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox.
On the other hand, the 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine produces 97bhp of peak power and 127Nm of peak torque, whereas the electric motor that is part of the hybrid system puts out 108bhp. In total, the hybrid system together produces 125bhp and 253Nm of torque.
Thoughts About The Upcoming 2023 Honda City Facelift
We expect the launch of the facelifted version of the Honda City to boost the sales of the sedan by a decent margin. Furthermore, we expect the Japanese automaker to introduce new features in the updated model to help it better compete with its rivals.
