Honda has launched the Activa 6G Smart Key variant in India at Rs 80,537. The newest variant of the Activa 6G lineup is the first OBD-2 scooter from Honda in India to be offered with a Smart Key equipped with the firm’s H-Smart tech.
The new 2023 Honda Activa 6G lineup has grown to three with the arrival of the new variant of the scooter. The 2023 Honda Activa 6G lineup is now offered in three trim levels – Standard, Deluxe and Smart Key with Alloy Wheels.
The Standard variant of the 2023 Activa 6G is priced at Rs 74,536 while the Deluxe variant commands a price tag of Rs 77,036. The new 2023 Honda Activa 6G Smart Key with Alloy Wheels Variant is priced at Rs 80,537.
So what do you get for the extra Rs 3,001 you pay over the Deluxe in the new Honda Activa 6G Smart Key with Alloy Wheels variant? Well, the answer is in the rather boring name that Honda has fitted the new variant of the Activa with.
The new Honda Activa 6G Smart Key rides on alloy wheels as standard which is new for the most popular scooter currently sold in India. Other than the wheels the biggest change in the newest Activa 6G scooter variant comes in the form of the Smart Key which enables Honda’s new H-Smart platform.
The Activa 6G Smart Key variant gets 4 smart features -Smart Unlock, Smart Start, Smart Find & Smart Safe. The Smart Unlock feature allows you to lock/unlock your Activa’s handlebars, storage area and fuel filler cap. The Smart Key needs to be within 2 metres of your Activa to enable this feature to be used. All you need to do is turn the new knob that sits where the key goes in the other Activa models.
The Smart Start is the same as the Unlock feature but instead allows you to start the new Activa 6G Smart Key without ever needing to take it out.
The Smart Find function allows you to locate your new 2023 Activa 6G from distances as far as 10 metres. If you’re 10 metres or less away from your Activa and cannot locate the scooter, press the ‘answer back’ button on the smart key and all four winkers will light up twice to help you locate your ride.
The Smart Safe is an anti-theft system that locks the scooter and disables the smart key functionality if you press the second button on the key for a few seconds. This ensures that Activa 6G Smart Key variant is safe with the aforementioned key’s lights turning red to indicate that the anti-theft system has been activated.
Mechanically, the new Activa 6G variant remains unchanged compared to its siblings though the new alloy wheels mean that the new scooter is 1 kilo lighter than its siblings. The Activa 6G continues to draw power from a 109.51cc single-cylinder engine that produces 7.73bhp and 8.9Nm of peak torque.
The 2023 Activa 6G lineup is offered in 6 colour options Decent Blue, Rebel Red Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Black, Pearl Precious White and Pear Siren Blue.
