On the other hand, the Toyota GR Supra is powered by two different engines. The base model is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that makes 255 hp. However, if you want to remain competitive with a Corvette, you’ll need to opt for the GR Supra 3.0. The upscale trim level comes equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter, inline-six engine that produces 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. Car and Driver put this version of the Supra to the test and came up with a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds.
That’s quick enough to keep up with other sports cars like Porsche Cayman GTS and BMW M2 Competition, but not the C8 Corvette.
Which car costs less?
When it comes to pricing, the C8 Corvette is tough to beat. In its base form, the Corvette will set you back $64,995, which is cheap, considering the type of performance you get. On the other hand, the Toyota GR Supra 3.0 costs $53,995. That’s still a great price considering it’s $10,000 less than the Corvette, and it doesn’t sacrifice too much in terms of performance.

The C8 Corvette works well for those looking for exotic car looks, a mid-engine layout, and a rumbling V8 engine filled with muscle. The Corvette also has plenty of cargo volume for a couple of carry-on bags and makes for a good weekend getaway car.
The GR Supra works for anyone that likes the mid-range pull of a turbocharged engine and it into BMWs. Let’s not forget that the Supra shares much with the BMW Z4, including its engine and interior. However, once you get behind the wheel of a Supra, you likely won’t care.
But if you’re only looking at either of these cars from a performance standpoint, the C8 Corvette is the way to go.
