There are many electric cars available now, with many more on the way. However, Tesla, which has long dominated the EV segment, continues to rate very highly for owner satisfaction. According to Consumer Reports, the 2022 Tesla Model 3 and 2022 Tesla Model S are the most satisfying electric cars.

Choosing which car to buy is a challenging endeavor. This is made more difficult with the microchip shortage, often resulting in many models not being available to test drive. However, to address this problem, Consumer Reports asks its members about their experience with the cars that they recently purchased. Specifically, CR asks one primary question: “If you had to do it all over again, would you definitely buy or lease the same model?”
For electric cars, the 2022 Tesla Model 3 had the most favorable response to the question, with 85% of Model 3 owners stating that they would buy or lease the electric car again. For nearly every owner satisfaction criteria, the Model 3 scored very well. In particular, the Model 3 earned high marks for driving experience (acceleration and handling), with a score of 96/100. The only owner satisfaction area in which the Model 3 didn’t do well was for value, with a score of 55/100.

For driving experience, the Model S performed even better than the Model 3, with a perfect score of 100/100. However, for value, the Model S rates even lower than the Model 3, with a score of 31/100.
