The Hyundai Avante (known as Elantra in some markets, including Malaysia) has just been given an update in Korea.
As reported by The Korea Herald, the 2022 Hyundai Avante comes with enhanced sound-absorbing doors and higher-rung variants are equipped with double-glazed front windows for a quieter driving experience.
Standard kit also gets a boost with options such as ‘Smart Sense 3’ that includes rear AEB and safety exit warning. Ventilated seats at the front and a 10.25-inch infotainment system are now standard in the ‘Modern’ variant.
The range-topping ‘Inspiration’ variant gets powered front passenger seat and a new beige colour option for the interior.
Powertrain wise, the regular Hyundai Avante is motivated by a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated engine (SmartStream G1.6 MPI) with 123 PS/154 Nm, mated to a CVT. Meanwhile, Hyundai Avante N-Line gets a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with 204 PS/264 Nm paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
In Malaysia, the Hyundai Elantra is currently offered with two variants – Executive and Premium, priced at RM 139,888 and RM 158,888. Both are fully-imported (CBU) from Korea and are powered by the same 1.6-litre SmartStream G1.6 MPI engine.
