These five packs give the Japanese crossover added individuality.
The upcoming generation of the Honda HR-V is expected to be an important stepping stone for the brand as it approaches its fully electrified production goal of 2040. To give this model some momentum and help it appeal to a broader audience, the design and engineer teams have put together these five unique packages that claim to uplift various aspects of the crossover.
These packs cater to the European e:HEV model, but the unique to the USA example that is expected to land here next year could very well be treated to the same approach. All packages alter both the exterior and interior design while taking advantage of its standard cabin space, comfort, and usability.
The range starts with the Sport Pack which, as the name suggests, appeals to those who want a more athletic presence. This features a front grille and tailgate spoiler painted in Berlina Black. A new look is provided by a sporty front and rear bumper with complementary body-color side skirts contrasted with chrome elements.
The Obscura Black Pack appears to be the next evolution of the Sport Pack as it applies the Berlina Black paint to the foglamp surrounds, door mirror covers, and tailgate spoiler extension. Bear in mind that these are just cosmetic alterations which means the Euro-spec crossover's naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and dual-electric motor system will retain its power output of 129 horsepower.
Next up is the Ilmenite Titanium Exterior Pack. This only adds titanium accents to the fog light surrounds, door mirror covers, and tailgate trimmings but the interior is where things get special. Here a titanium finish is applied to the steering wheel, gear shift surround, and door panels. For a more plush cabin experience, customers can select the leather upholstery option which adds a combination of classic grain leather with an Alston smooth fabric contrast.
The Cargo Pack caters to those who want to make the most of the HR-V's accommodating cabin space. This offers a trunk tray with dividers to ensure that valuables are secure while on the move and durable waterproof flooring that is resistant to the dirty elements of the world. To prevent the bodywork from getting damaged, it also sports tough stainless steel trunk protectors while tailgate illumination enhances visibility in low-light settings.
The Active Lifestyle Pack caters to the clientele that wants to be a bit more adventurous with their HR-V. Peace of mind is added by integrating door sill trims, mud flaps, and a foldable dirt-resistant trunk mat. Within the cabin, there's an integrated wireless smartphone charger.
By the looks of early sketches, we can already tell that the US-based HR-V is going to be active in its natural state. Information regarding the powertrain is still top secret but we expect it will employ some form of electrification much like its European counterpart.
