Earlier today, Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSB) launched the 2022 RS e:HEV hybrid. The new electrified C-segment sedan is positioned as the range-topping variant in HMSB’s Civic line-up.
According to Honda Malaysia’s President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr Sarly Adle Sarkum, the projected sales target for the electrified Civic RS e:HEV is 10 percent of all Civic sales.
Since bookings were opened on 13-October, Mr Sarly added that HMSB has received over 100 bookings for the new Civic e:HEV.
Waiting period for the 2022 Honda Civic RS e:HEV currently stands between 2 to 3 months.
Priced from RM 166,500, the 2022 Honda Civic RS e:HEV is the most expensive locally-assembled (CKD) Civic variant in Malaysia.
Instead of the tried-and-tested turbocharged mill, the Civic RS e:HEV gets Honda’s trick two-motor i-MMD powertrain mated to a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre direct-injection 4-cylinder petrol engine, allowing for a combined system output of 184 PS and 315 Nm. Claimed fuel consumption is a low 4-litre/100 km.
In addition to the new powertrain, the Civic RS e:HEV also gets unique wheels, Qi wireless charger, fully-digital instrument cluster, and Key Card.
