Hyundai’s Drive-N Limited version of its i30 N hot hatch has been unveiled ahead of its arrival in Australia.
Hyundai’s N division shook up the hot hatch segment when it unveiled the i30 N in 2016. Now the South Korean firm has unveiled a special version called the Drive-N Limited Edition, featuring new cosmetic tweaks.
The model is due to hit Australian showrooms later this year and has so far been revealed in Europe.
There are plenty of design changes to set the Drive-N apart from the normal i30 N. The new 19-inch forged alloy wheels are painted in dark bronze matte, the Hyundai badges have been blacked out and there are special Drive-N decals on the side, front and rear. There are also two choices of exterior paint – Phantom Black Pearl or Serenity White Pearl.
The interior also has plenty of alterations with each car receiving a numbered badge to signify its position within the run of 800 total units. We also see the steering wheel, gear lever, armrest and handbrake have been trimmed in Alcantara with red stitching rather than leather.
Just 800 units of the limited edition i30 N are available globally, with 180 set for Australia.
Hyundai has kept the same 2.0 T-GDi powertrain from the standard car, so power stands at 206kW and 392Nm of torque. Hyundai’s three N performance functions, N Power Shift, N Grin Shift, and N Track Sense Shift all remain. There’s no manual offering here, so power is sent through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
No pricing has been revealed for the new Hyundai i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition but expect it to cost a little more than the standard model.
