The mods on this OCTY cost lakhs of rupees, which are well worth in its pursuit of becoming the Ultimate Sleeper!
In a country where efficiency is the first and foremost criterion while buying cars, some carmakers are brave enough to offer unadulterated performance in mass-market segments. One such carmaker is Skoda, which did a brave thing by launching the multiple iterations of Octavia vRS in the last two decades.
Here, we have come across a Skoda Octavia vRS 230, which is tuned to deliver massive 600 bhp of power – more than twice the power produced in the stock version of the car. A YouTube video by ‘The Drivers Hub’ provides more information on this Skoda Octavia vRS, the details of which are there below.
The third-generation Skoda Octavia received two iterations of vRS in India, vRS 230 and vRS 245. Both these iterations are a popular choice among car enthusiasts who want to have a sports-car-like driving experience and thrills at almost half the price of one.
Plethora Of Changes In The Skoda Octavia vRS
The whole project of making this Skoda Octavia vRS a beast is rightfully called ‘Project Mighty Venom vRS 600’. A host of changes have made their way under the hood of this car. These changes make the engine feel much more enthusiastic in its power delivery.

This Skoda Octavia vRS Looks Different As Well
There are a number of modifications in this Octavia that makes it look sportier
Not at all. Apart from having a sea of upgrades, this Skoda Octavia vRS certainly looks the part. On the outside, it looks different from the stock vRS 230, with a different grille with hexagonal inserts, unlike the grille with vertical slats in the stock car. It also gets a different set of black alloy wheels and a slightly-smoked effect for the headlamps and tail lamps.
The cabin also feels much more luxurious than before
Step inside this Skoda Octavia vRS, and the car greets you with a different flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara leather and carbon fibre touches. Even the paddle shifters are now made of carbon fibre here.
Let’s talk about the power
This heavily-modified Skoda Octavia vRS visits a dyno test centre, where its performance goes for check whole-heartedly. The dyno runs tell that this heavily-modified 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine of this Skoda Octavia vRS produces 576 bhp of maximum power and 655 Nm of maximum torque. These figures are similar to those of a sports car priced more than double the price of this Octavia vRS. For reference, the stock power and torque figures of the Octavia vRS 230 are 230 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque.
You can watch the Dyno run by SWIPING UP
And it didn’t end here. More statistics reveal that this modified Skoda Octavia vRS is a fast car. On the dyno, the car achieved a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 3.76 seconds, while on the other hand, the 0-200 km/h sprint took 10.86 seconds.
After this, the car goes under test with passengers onboard and a full tank of fuel. Even with these conditions, this Octavia vRS completed the quarter-mile run in 11.15 seconds. The car’s tuner suggests that more fine-tuning and adjustments result in a lesser time of 10.5 seconds to complete a quarter-mile run.
It is not at all a smooth ride
Given the extensive modifications it received, this modification job is not a cheap project. The complexity of some parts and processes increases the total cost of this modification to a few lakhs. Also, expect the car to return single-digit fuel efficiency figures, even after driving sedately.
Is this the ultimate sleeper car one can have in India?
While there are some sleeper cars available in India like BMW M340i, Mercedes-AMG A35 sedan and Audi RS5, this Skoda Octavia vRS costs almost half of them even after these modifications mentioned in this story. However, with a supercar-rivalling power output of 600 bhp, it is bound to get attention and deliver maximum thrills for the price and is a perfect sleeper car with so much power on tap when needed.
