Former F1 and now Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver Romain Grosjean will occupy the helm of the newly developed racer.
Lamborghini is set to reveal its Le Mans Daytona hybrid (LMDh) race car next week at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed – more than a year after officially announcing its entry into hypercar endurance racing.
The LMDh race car – powered by a newly developed twin-turbo V8 hybrid setup – will be competing at the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Endurance Cup, taking on the Hypercar and GTP classes in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 12 Hours of Sebring, and 24 Hours of Daytona.
Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr, and Head of Motorsport Giorgio Sanna, together with partner Iron Lynx, will present the race car at Goodwood.

We already knew a bit about the race car's oily bits when it was announced last year. Lamborghini's first fully developed racing engine, the twin-turbo V8, will have a maximum output of 671 horsepower. The car's weight will be limited to 2,271 lbs to adhere to LMDh regulations, while its top speed will be capped at 211.3 mph.
Lamborghini worked with Liger for the LMDh race car's chassis, while Bosch provided its motor generator unit and Williams Advanced Engineering developed its battery pack. Of note, Winkelmann has confirmed that the race car will influence road-legal supercars, particularly its hybrid powertrain.
As Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory driver, former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean will pilot the new LMDh race car.

The new LMDh race car will be revealed in full on Thursday, July 13, standing next to the Lamborghini Lounge at the annual event. It will stand side-by-side with Lambo's popular nameplates, including the Urus Performante and Huracan Sterrato – both confirmed sold out until the end of their production.
The Revuelto plug-in hybrid supercar will also be displayed, though its main stunt will be the hill climb. The Huracan STO, Tecnica, and Sterrato will also join the Aventador successor on the climb – the latter will provide an extra treat by going beyond the tarmac to showcase its Rally mode.
