The EV6 GT is an all-electric car with 576 horsepower and a drift mode, but no set of numbers can prepare you to see a Kia slide around these corners.

The Kia EV6 GT has 576 horsepower. Even though that number was announced months ago, the idea of a Kia with that much force behind it is still hard to comprehend. Fortunately, the French automotive outlet L’argus has already found the best possible way to illustrate what it means to pump that much horsepower into an electrified Kia crossover. Yes, someone already took the Kia EV6 GT to the Nürburgring.
As you might expect from a car with a quoted 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds, the EV6 GT holds its own on the Green Hell. Our driver darts out of corners with precision and even occasionally gets the car sideways, exactly the sort of performance you would hope for from a crossover with a drift mode. With some traffic around and few spots to fully stretch the car’s legs, top speeds on this run float around 130 MPH. Kia claims the car is capable of 161 MPH, but it is still a fairly substantial number for any crossover.
That does not make the on-board footage of a Kia, with every bit of a Kia interior, passing M3s and even an SLS AMG on the Nordscheliefe. This is a strange side effect of the way the EV market has developed, but the popularity of electric performance has forced many manufacturers to inject serious power into their lineups. Market trends may be taking manual transmissions and natural aspiration away from performance cars around the world, but market trends also mean that Kia is willing to make a crossover that can drift on the Nürburgring.
