Lexus has announced updates to its UX 250h for 2023, including a larger touchscreen with new interface, available active variable suspension, and tweaks to its driving performance. As with the 2022 model, the UX will only come as a hybrid and with all-wheel-drive.
The 2023 model gets a more rigid body thanks to an extra set of spot welds, and the electronic power steering and shock absorbers have been tweaked for better steering and handling, and a smoother ride. Noise and ride quality are also improved with newly developed 18-inch run-flat tires.
Inside, the UX 250h adds two front USB charging connectors, larger wireless charging pad, and improved switch shape and layout.
The available F Sport option now adds new F Sport Design, and F Sport Series 1 and 2 packages. These include F Sport wheels and grille, black roof with dark roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, fog lamps, cornering lamps, automatic headlight leveling, and painted wheel arch moldings.
The F Sport Series 1 adds standard performance dampers and an Active Variable Suspension, which adjusts the damping force to match road conditions. A brace in the steering gear improves steering response.
The F Sport Series 2 builds on the Series 1 package and adds a head-up display, 12.3-inch display screen, navigation, adaptive headlights, ventilated seats, wireless charging, parking assist, and hands-free power liftgate.
All UX 250h models receive the new Lexus Interface multimedia system on both the eight-inch or optional 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreens. The interface includes a voice assistant that can be activated by saying, “Hey, Lexus,” and uses natural speech for commands. An available Drive Connect subscription provides access to cloud navigation, destination assist, over-the-air updates for traffic and routing information, and when necessary, 24/7 access to a live agent for help with destinations. Lexus Interface also provides dual Bluetooth phone connectivity, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date later in the summer of 2022.
