On June 26, XPeng officially released interior images of the MONA L03, the first SUV in its MONA lineup. The model is scheduled to make its official debut in July. Notably, XPeng Vice President Yu Tao said earlier this week that the MONA L03 will become the company’s first global model to launch simultaneously in China and overseas. According to XPeng, the MONA L03 adopts the brand’s latest interior design language. The cabin features a 256-color wraparound ambient lighting system with a total light strip length of 4.5 meters. The dashboard is equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, a dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel with satellite-style controls, and a 26.8-inch high-definition W-HUD (windshield head-up display). The air-conditioning vents are integrated into a concealed design. MONA L03’s steering wheel with satellite-style controls Soft-touch materials cover more than 72% of the cabin. Other premium features include brushed-metal speaker grilles and a velvet headliner that XPeng says uses the same material found in flagship vehicles priced around RMB 500,000 ($73,485). The roof features a dual-layer silver-coated panoramic glass canopy that blocks more than 99.9% of ultraviolet rays and over 97% of visible light. The front row also includes a large vanity mirror with dual soft-light illumination. The MONA L03 is powered by XPeng’s Tianji AIOS 6.2.0 intelligent cockpit system and comes equipped with a 14-point massage front passenger zero-gravity seat and a 20-speaker AI audio system. MONA L03’s interior view According to previously disclosed filings with China’s MIIT, the MONA L03 measures 4,650 mm (4,672 mm) in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The model will be offered in both battery-electric and extended-range electric variants. The BEV version is powered by a single electric motor producing a maximum output of 183 kW. Regarding pricing, XPeng Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng previously said the vehicle was developed to compete with products in the RMB 300,000 ($44,091) segment, but its final retail price will remain below RMB 300,000 ($44,091). Given that the MONA M03 is priced between RMB 119,800 ($17,607) and RMB 151,800 ($22,310), the L03 is widely expected to be priced at around RMB 200,000 ($29,394). MONA L03’s interior view The launch of the MONA L03 also reflects XPeng’s ongoing efforts to rebalance its product portfolio. The MONA M03 has become the company’s volume leader. Data from ChinaEV Home showed that XPeng delivered 25,600 vehicles in China in May, of which the MONA M03 accounted for 14,100 units, representing more than 55% of the brand’s monthly deliveries. However, the heavy concentration of sales in an entry-level model has also created pressure on the company’s profitability. While the MONA M03 serves as the backbone of XPeng’s sedan lineup, the SUV-positioned L03 is expected to become a key growth driver. MONA L03 On one hand, it will enter China’s highly competitive new-energy SUV market. On the other, its simultaneous global launch positions it to support XPeng’s overseas sales expansion. According to the company’s financial results, XPeng reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of RMB 13.03 billion ($1.91 billion), down 17.6% year-on-year. Its quaterly net loss reached RMB 1.78 billion ($262 million). Gross margin improved by five percentage points from a year earlier to 20.6%. As the MONA lineup continues to expand and overseas deliveries accelerate, the L03 is expected to play a key role in diversifying XPeng’s sales mix and improving the company’s overall operating performance.
