XPeng announced the MONA L03 will make its China debut on July 2, with presales opening the same day. After its domestic launch, the compact SUV will head to Europe for its global rollout, marking the company’s latest push to expand overseas. XPeng Chairman He Xiaopeng said the July 2 event will be the model’s only launch conference in China. The company plans to move the vehicle to Europe shortly afterward for its international debut. The MONA L03 is the first SUV under the MONA lineup. It is also the series’ first model to offer both battery-electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrains. The BEV variant uses a single electric motor rated at 183 kW. The lineup is expected to feature XPeng’s Vision-Language-Action (VLA) visual driving system as standard. Higher trims will use two in-house Turing AI chips, delivering 1,500 TOPS of computing power. The BEV version offers 56 kWh or 69 kWh battery packs, delivering up to 625 km of CLTC range. Energy consumption is as low as 11.9 kWh per 100 km. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 6.6 seconds. The EREV version pairs XPeng’s range-extender system with an oil-cooled six-in-one electric drive unit. It delivers a combined driving range of 1,330 km, plus 315 km of CLTC electric-only range. XPeng has intensified marketing ahead of the launch. According to the company’s schedule, it will begin a real-world endurance test for the MONA L03 EREV at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow, targeting more than 1,000 km on a single trip. The company will also conduct nationwide long-distance testing across six extended-range models, including the P7+, G6, G7, GX, X9, and the MONA L03, aiming to validate the technology under real driving conditions. He previously said the MONA L03 was engineered to the standards of a 300K RMB ($44.2K) vehicle, while its final retail price will remain below 300K RMB ($44.2K). Market expectations place the entry-level version at around 150K RMB ($22.1K), positioning it against models such as the BYD Atto 3 and Leapmotor C11. The launch carries strategic importance for XPeng. The automaker delivered 25.6K vehicles in China in May. The MONA M03 accounted for 14.1K units, representing more than 55% of total deliveries. While the sedan has become XPeng’s biggest sales driver, the company’s volume remains heavily concentrated in a single model.
