Legendary 2026 Mustang tuner Steeda is back with a new track day special. The company that calls itself the world's largest producer of Ford performance parts has just launched the 2026 Mustang Q-Series Track Edition. It's a car designed for something unique in the performance car world: Predictable, sustained performance lap after lap, all day long. All About Confidence And Consistency Steeda Yes, every track car is about setting ever-faster laps, but few builders have much to say about the process to get them there. Or about consistency. For Steeda, "from the outset, our objective was clear – develop a track-capable Mustang that performs lap after lap with complete consistency and confidence," said VP of Operations Glen Vitale.A track car is about chassis, so we'll start with the suspension.Steeda's Pro Action dampers have adjustable rebound and ride height, with spring rate options to help you tune the balance and grip for your own track and driving style.Steeda Steeda also adds its front and rear sway bars and adjustable rear toe links. The rear subframe has a bushing support system for durability, and there are subframe braces to help make the chassis more rigid. It's all about controlling energy through the chassis, Steeda says.A new cooling system for the rear differential is installed to help keep temperatures in check. The car also gets a front splitter that actually works to improve stability and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 performance tires on 19×11 wheels. There are some go-fast extras as well. The engine gets a custom calibration and a ProFlow Power Pack that gives it a new inlet and new filters. Thousands Of On-Track Development Miles Steeda That will get you over 500 horsepower, and Steeda calls it the Q500 Track Edition. If you want more, though, Steeda will slap a supercharger on there to make the Q850 Track Edition with somewhere north of 800 horses.Steeda has put the car through its paces on tracks around the US, including Sebring, Homestead-Miami, and Daytona. That's thousands of miles of lapping to make sure it was durable and consistent. Steeda says the Q-Series cars can turn lap times competitive with "purpose-built race platforms" and faster than American Iron, American Sedan, and SCCA National competition classes. The Q500 package starts from "in the low $20,000 range" on top of your base Mustang GT of choice. From there, the sky is the limit and Steeda offers a massive array of performance upgrades for Ford's blank canvas pony car.Steeda isn't the household name in Mustang performance, but it's been around for nearly 40 years and has a Ford history far longer than that. Company founder Dario Orlando's father, Domenico, was a designer at Ford starting in the 1950s, with work on the original Mustang and the GT40, among others. The performance company has been building fast Mustangs since 1988. Since then, it has built more Mustangs, F-150s, and even fast Focuses long before the ST and RS came around. What we like about this Mustang is that it doesn't shout. Especially if you leave off the graphics package. It's about hitting the track and turning laps, lap after lap, all day long.
