The world is full of notable automotive tuners, all of which have different claims to fame. Some focus on power, others on style, and yet more try to do both. ABT seems to strive for both, and mainly for Volkswagen Group cars. It has another claim to fame, though. The family company has been around longer than the automobile itself, having started as a blacksmith shop 130 years ago, this year. The company worked with Audi and Horch in the 1920s, and got involved with racing and performance later in the century, all under the same family. So it's no surprise the company is releasing special edition cars for the occasion, starting with a mean-looking RS6.ABT It Looks Elegant And Menacing The first of ABT's special edition cars is the RS6-LE 800, and it showcases a dark and brooding color scheme softened by gold, or as ABT calls it "Neodym," accents. The black blends nicely with the plethora of carbon fiber additions ABT fits including the front splitter, grille accents, side skirts, rear diffuser, air vents, mirror caps, and rear wing. Those additions also help visually lower the car and make it look a bit more aggressive and sporty. The gold accents come on the 22-inch ABT-designed wheels, and logos and badges on the front and the rear.ABT The interior continues the theme with black and carbon fiber across most of it. The steering wheel is covered in Alcantara, while the seats feature Dinamica. Gold accents pop up with the model name embroidered on the seat backs and a medallion on the center console in honor of the anniversary. An option ABT is offering is to give the carbon fiber trim on the dash and the seats a finish with gold metallic flecks.ABT It Brings Impressive Performance The RS6-LE 800 is based on the RS6-LE that was introduced in 2023. The number added to this anniversary model is important, because it represents the amount of power it makes in metric horsepower, which comes to 800. The regular version, in comparison, makes 760. Now, using American ponies, the RS6-LE 800 makes 790 hp, but that's still an extra 40 horses over the regular RS6-LE. Additionally, ithe RS6-LE 800 makes 723 pound-feet of torque versus 679. These power levels are achieved with an upgraded intercooler, oil cooler, stainless steel exhaust, and upgraded turbochargers.ABT doesn't stop with the powertrain, though. It also fits custom coilover suspension and stiffer anti-roll bars to improve handling. The one thing it seems to lack is any sort of braking upgrade. It's Exclusive And Expensive ABT will only build 30 examples of the RS6-LE 800, at least in this special anniversary configuration. The package costs €108,000, which is nearly $125,000 at the time of writing, on top of the cost of an RS6. Since a new RS6 starts at a little over $130,000, the ABT package basically doubles the price. The price of the package also doesn't cover installation. However, this special edition is only €100 more than the standard RS6-LE. So at least in that sense, it's a heck of a deal.
