One-Off Napier Green McLaren Elva Heads to Mecum's Monterey 2026 SaleA one-of-one McLaren Elva finished in a striking Napier Green Pearl over black leather is headed to the auction block this month. Mecum Auctions has listed the 645-mile roadster as Lot S118 for its Monterey 2026 sale, with the car scheduled to cross the block on Saturday, August 15.Built to McLaren Special Operations (MSO) specification, this Elva pairs its bespoke exterior hue with exposed carbon fiber trim, carbon fiber front and rear diffusers, and a steering wheel finished with a matching green center stripe. Inside, carbon fiber racing seats are trimmed in black leather with green accents and embroidered Elva logos, while carbon ceramic brakes wear green calipers to tie the look together. Just one of 149 examples built, the car carries VIN SBM26ACA2MW815120 and shows a scant 645 miles on the odometer, making it one of the most well-preserved Elvas likely to reach a public sale. The Elva name dates back to Bruce McLaren's featherweight Can-Am racers of the 1960s, and while the modern car shares little beyond the badge, it carries the same obsession with weight savings. A carbon fiber Monocell chassis helps the roadster tip the scales at just 2,531 pounds dry, making it the lightest road car McLaren has ever produced. Power comes from the company's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, tuned here to 804 horsepower and paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. An Active Air Management System reroutes air around the open cockpit to soften buffeting at speed, while an active aero package with a deployable rear wing and a factory tonneau cover round out the engineering story.AdvertisementAdvertisementBecause the Elva is both new and scarce, Hagerty's valuation tools don't yet carry a dedicated price guide entry for the model, so most of what the market knows comes from watching auction results directly. For context, Hagerty's data on the McLaren P1, the halo car that helped inspire the Ultimate Series lineup the Elva belongs to, shows a 2014 example in good condition now trading in the neighborhood of $1.5 million, up more than 10 percent over the past year, with top cars pushing well past $2 million. That kind of trajectory suggests collectors are treating McLaren's limited-run flagships less like depreciating exotics and more like appreciating collector pieces. It also lines up with another 2021 Elva we covered that crossed the block this summer, a windshield-equipped example carrying a pre-sale estimate of $1.75 million to $2.1 million. Seeing two Elvas reach public sale within months of each other is itself notable given the model's 149-unit production run, and offers a useful side-by-side look at how specification and mileage shape demand. This Elva's trip to the block coincides with Monterey Car Week, the August gathering on California's Monterey Peninsula that has become the collector car world's biggest stage, drawing marquee sales from Mecum, Broad Arrow, and other major houses. Ultra-low-mileage modern exotics tend to draw outsized attention in that setting, a dynamic also on display in a delivery-mile 2024 Nissan GT-R that surfaced for sale earlier this year. With just 645 miles covered since new, this Elva fits squarely into that same category, and its one-off color combination only adds to the appeal. This Elva crosses the block on Saturday, August 15 as part of Mecum's Monterey 2026 lineup. Given the rarity of its one-off Napier Green Pearl specification and its remarkably low mileage, it figures to be one of the more closely watched lots of the week.⚡️ Read the full article on MotoriousSign up for the Motorious Newsletter.
