Following the earlier rollout of the BEV variant, HEV and ICE variants powered by a 1.5T engine will complete Ora 5’s lineup. On March 4, Lu Wenbin, General Manager of GWM’s Ora brand, announced on social media that the Ora 5 multi-powertrain version will hold its global launch event in Thailand in March, ahead of its China debut in April. Following the earlier rollout of the BEV variant, HEV and ICE versions will be introduced successively, completing the model’s powertrain lineup and broadening its market coverage. The platform supports five powertrain forms, including PHEV, BEV, HEV, FCEV and ICE systems. The Ora 5 BEV version was officially launched in China in December last year, offering five variants priced between RMB 99,800 and RMB 133,800 ($14,460–$19,390). In terms of intelligent features, the model is fitted with GWM’s third-generation advanced driver assistance system, Coffee Pilot Ultra, supporting map-free urban navigation on autopilot and more than 200 parking scenarios. The HEV and ICE versions of the Ora 5 appeared in filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in February. The parallel deployment of three powertrain options remains relatively uncommon in this segment, reflecting a more flexible product strategy by the Ora brand. In terms of sales performance, Ora recorded a 71.60% year-on-year increase in December, reaching 8,134 units and marking the highest growth rate among GWM’s brands that month. GWM sales data in Feb 2026 However, sales declined to 1,263 units in February, down 33.46% year on year, with cumulative deliveries of 3,320 units in the first two months, representing an 18.85% decline.
