Geely Auto has signed a cooperation agreement with Pakistan-based conglomerate Bestway Group, appointing it as the official importer of the Geely Galaxy brand in the Pakistani market. Under the agreement, Geely will officially enter Pakistan in the third quarter of 2026 through completely built-up (CBU) vehicle imports, initially launching two battery electric models: the EX5 and EX2. Both vehicles are based on Geely Galaxy’s existing product lineup. The EX5 is the overseas version of the Galaxy E5, positioned as a compact battery electric SUV. Together, the two models cover the compact SUV and small EV segments and are among Geely’s key export products. Bestway brings substantial local resources to the partnership. As Pakistan’s largest cement group, the company entered the automotive sector in 2025. In March this year, Bestway completed the acquisition of long-established automaker Al-Haj Automotive, gaining access to a vehicle assembly plant, automotive operating licenses and an established local management team. Geely EX2 Under the agreement, Bestway will be responsible for vehicle homologation, dealer network development, sales and after-sales services for the Geely Galaxy brand in Pakistan, leveraging its local business network to establish a localized service system. Pakistan is the latest stop in Geely’s overseas expansion. Earlier, the company reached an agreement with Swiss automotive importer and retailer Emil Frey to enter the Swiss market in the third quarter of this year, initially launching the Galaxy E5 and Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i new energy SUVs. Rapid overseas expansion has become an increasingly important contributor to Geely’s sales growth. Geely sold 240,799 vehicles in June, recording year-on-year and month-on-month growth for the fourth consecutive month. Geely EX5 Overseas exports reached 102,874 units, up 157% year-on-year and setting another monthly export record. Geely Galaxy also maintained strong momentum. The brand sold 108,206 vehicles in June, up 20% year-on-year and 32% from May. Among them, the Geely Xingyuan recorded sales of 50,906 units, accounting for nearly half of Galaxy’s total monthly sales, while the Galaxy E5 sold 13,543 units, up 65% year-on-year. Supported by stronger-than-expected overseas performance, Geely has raised its full-year export target for the second time this year. The company initially targeted overseas sales of 640,000 vehicles for 2026, later increased the goal to 750,000 units, and now expects annual exports to exceed 900,000 vehicles.
