The recall covers several models, including the Lynk & Co 900, Lynk & Co 10 EM-P, Lynk & Co 07, and Lynk & Co 08. The recall stems from manufacturing fluctuations at the supplier level. Specifically, the power IC (Integrated Circuit) inside some LiDAR units may have been damaged during the production process. This defect can lead to insufficient recognition, warning, or handling of specific objects when combined driving assistance is active, creating potential safety hazards under extreme conditions. Lynk & Co has committed to replacing the affected LiDAR units free of charge. The scale of the recall is significant. Data quoted by Jiemian News shows that the cumulative terminal sales of these four models in 2025 totalled 147,800 units, meaning approximately half of these vehicles are affected. Simultaneously, Geely recalled 18,878 Galaxy M9 vehicles for the same reason, bringing the total number of affected vehicles across two brands and five models to nearly 93,000. The recall follows months of escalating complaints from owners. Since June, users have reported “front LiDAR function failure” warnings and the subsequent lockout of high-level assisted driving features. Many owners expressed frustration over the lack of transparency from 4S dealerships, some of whom initially attributed the failures to dirty windshields. “Front LiDAR malfunction, please contact dealer.”Credit: Autohome One Lynk & Co 10 EM-P owner, who experienced two failures within a year, stated that he no longer dares to use the smart driving features on city roads, fearing a sudden system failure. Beyond the technical flaw, Lynk & Co’s after-sales handling has come under scrutiny. Owners reported inconsistent compensation packages – ranging from single maintenance vouchers to lifelong warranties or reward points – and expressed concerns over the repair process. Replacing the LiDAR requires dismantling a portion of the roof lining, which owners fear could lead to interior rattles, sealing issues, and a decrease in the vehicle’s resale value. This quality crisis comes at a difficult time for Lynk & Co. The brand has seen a sharp decline in sales, with July figures dropping 40% year-on-year. For the first seven months of the year, cumulative sales reached 160,600 units, meaning the company has achieved less than 40% of its annual target of 400,000 vehicles.
