The new SUV is available in five trim levels, with official pricing ranging from 97,800 yuan (14,400 USD) to 137,800 yuan (20,300 USD). The most significant transformation is the shift from front-wheel drive to a rear-wheel-drive configuration for the primary models, alongside the integration of LiDAR, the G-Pilot (Qianli Haohan) H5 intelligent driving system, 6C fast charging, and the new Aegis Golden Brick short-blade battery. The vehicle now incorporates LiDAR on the roof to support high-level driving assistance, including urban and highway NOA, memory parking, and fingertip parking. The dimensions for the RWD models are 4,630 x 1,920 x 1,670 mm with a wheelbase of 2,745 mm. The entry-level FWD model measures 4,615 x 1,901 x 1,670 mm with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. Notable exterior changes include new fender-mounted cameras, privacy glass for the rear windows, and a return to traditional door handles. The vehicle offers 18-inch and 19-inch wheel options. Interior and technology Inside, the cabin features a 15.4-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Upgrades include a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel and a new crystal-style gear selector. The vehicle is powered by the Flyme Auto 2 smart cockpit system and includes a HUD, 540° transparent chassis, four-zone voice control, 50W wireless phone charging, and zero-gravity front passenger seats. Performance and safety The four Smart Charging trims are built on an 800V architecture with a rear-mounted motor producing 245 kW (329 hp) – an 85 kW (114 hp) increase over the previous model. The entry-level FWD model retains a 400V architecture with the 160 kW (215 hp) motor. The vehicle utilises the new Aegis Golden Brick short blade battery, available in 60.22 kWh, 61.52 kWh, and 70.01 kWh capacities, offering ranges of 530 km (429 km WLTP), 550 km (446 km WLTP), and 635 km (514 km WLTP), respectively. The body structure has a torsional rigidity of 36,000 N·m/deg, utilising 1,500 MPa hot-formed steel and a bulletproof coating on the battery pack. It also features an all-scenario tyre blowout stabilisation system capable of maintaining control at 160 km/h in a straight line and 120 km/h in curves. Editor’s comment Smart Charging is Geely’s answer to counter BYD’s Flash Charging. Although this E5 can charge at 6C, it cannot reach a full charge in 8 minutes and 40 seconds. It should take around 9 minutes to charge the battery to 80%. 6C fast charging is becoming increasingly common in Geely’s new models.
