Geely recently held a new-energy vehicle launch event in Casablanca, Morocco, officially introducing the EX2 electric city car while also showcasing the EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV. The EX2 corresponds to the Geely Xingyuan sold in China and is positioned as a compact pure-electric hatchback targeting the urban commuting market. The vehicle is equipped with a 39.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack and delivers a WLTP-rated driving range of 325 km, with staring price set at 199,900 MAD ($21,700). Geely EX2 The EX5 EM-i, meanwhile, is the overseas version of the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i sold in China and currently stands as the first Chinese-brand plug-in hybrid SUV available in the Moroccan market. The model had already made its debut at the Casablanca Auto Expo in the second half of 2025 before officially launching local deliveries in December last year. At present, the Moroccan market offers only a single MAX trim version, priced at 339,900 MAD ($36,900). Geely EX5 EM-i Geely officially entered the Moroccan market in 2023, with operations handled by Bamotors Morocco, a subsidiary of local conglomerate GBH Group. Its sales network in Morocco has now expanded to 33 dealerships nationwide. From a sales-performance perspective, the Galaxy lineup remains one of Geely’s fastest-growing business segments. Geely launch event in Casablanca, Morocco Data shows Geely Galaxy sales, including exports, reached 91,001 units in April, up 10% month-on-month. Among them, the Geely Xingyuan (EX2) continues to serve as the core sales pillar for the Galaxy brand, posting monthly sales of 41,938 units in April. Cumulative sales of the model have now surpassed 700,000 units since launch. Meanwhile, Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i (EX5 DM-i) sales reached 17,765 units in April, marking four consecutive months with sales above 10,000 units, with cumulative sales exceeding 200,000 units since launch
