Geely plans to establish 15 dealerships in Hungary by 2026 and expand to more than 25 by 2030. Geely Auto officially entered the Hungarian market at the International Automobil and Tuning Show 2026 (AMTS 2026) in Budapest, launching two EVs — the Starray EM-i and the E5. The two models correspond to the Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i and Galaxy E5 sold in China. Geely Hungary launch event The Starray EM-i (internationally known as the Geely EX5 EM-i) is a plug-in hybrid SUV with a maximum combined range of up to 1,055 km and an all-electric range of up to 136 km. The E5 (globally known as the Geely EX5) is a battery electric SUV offering a WLTP range of up to 475 km. Both models are built on Geely’s new-energy platform and target the mainstream family vehicle segment. At the launch event, Hungary country sales director Arpad announced official local pricing. The Starray EM-i starts at approximately HUF 12.99 million ($38,090), while the E5 is priced from about HUF 14.99 million ($43,950). Geely E5 Alongside the product launch, Geely is also accelerating the buildout of its sales and service network. The company plans to develop regional capabilities in spare parts warehousing, vehicle logistics and after-sales services to support broader coverage across Central and Eastern Europe. At the AMTS show, several other Chinese automakers, including BAIC, SAIC MG and Chery Omoda, also showcased multiple models. Geely’s overseas expansion is accelerating. In February 2026, the company exported 60,879 vehicles, up 138% year-on-year, with new-energy vehicles accounting for 67% of total exports. The Geely Galaxy lineup has become a core driver of overseas growth, with models such as the Galaxy E5 and Starship 7 EM-i already launched in markets including Greece, Central Asia and the Middle East.
