The model features the world’s highest engine thermal efficiency at 48.41% and achieved a Guinness World Record with a remarkable fuel consumption of 2.22 L/100km during real-world testing. Built on Geely’s new-generation BMA Evo global modular architecture, the Emgrand i-HEV adopts a P1+P3 dual-motor layout paired with an integrated 11-in-1 electric drive system. The drive motor delivers a maximum output of 230kW (308hp), which Geely claims is 1.72 times the power of typical Japanese hybrid systems. The vehicle supports three operating modes – pure electric, hybrid parallel, and direct drive – allowing optimal power distribution across different driving scenarios, including low-speed starts, urban driving, highway cruising, and rapid acceleration. Under WLTC conditions, the electric drive system dominates more than 80% of operating scenarios, reducing engine operating time by over 27% compared to conventional hybrid systems. The car can travel in pure EV mode at speeds up to 66 km/h. Rear of the fifth-generation Emgrand i-HEV. Performance figures include a 0–30 km/h acceleration time of just 1.84 seconds and a system response time of 10 milliseconds. The model’s claimed fuel consumption on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology filing stands at 3.83 L/100km. Fuel consumption: 3.83 L/100 km. According to Geely, the i-HEV system utilises its proprietary Star Smart AI Cloud Power 2.0 model, which employs artificial intelligence to sense external temperature, humidity, altitude, and road gradient in real time, automatically matching the optimal oil-electric power strategy. This management improves comprehensive energy efficiency by over 10%. During a highway loop test on Hainan Island, the Emgrand i-HEV achieved 2.22 L/100km, surpassing all global mass-produced hybrid vehicles and setting a new Guinness World Record for the lowest fuel consumption by a mass-produced hybrid vehicle – reportedly over 12% lower than results achieved by the Toyota Prius under similar conditions. In terms of refinement, Geely’s in-house EOC active noise control and engine stop-position prediction technology reduce startup vibration by 32.7%, while total cabin noise is only 1 dB higher than that of a battery electric vehicle. The model also features a 1 kWh high-rate battery that balances lightweight design, high-power output, and energy recovery. The cockpit of the fifth-generation Emgrand i-HEV. On 1 June, Geely Auto released its May 2026 sales figures, with total group sales reaching 237,637 units, marking year-on-year and month-on-month growth for the third consecutive month. Of these, sales of new energy vehicles reached 133,355 units, accounting for 56% of total sales. Overseas export sales hit 85,144 units, a year-on-year increase of 184%, setting a new record for monthly exports.
