The Sealion 08 will be available in both Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) versions. The Sealion 08 is packed with BYD’s latest technological advancements, including second-generation Blade Battery, flash-charging technology, and the “God’s Eye” 5.0 intelligent driving assistance system. Design and dimensionsDrawing inspiration from the Ocean S concept car, the Sealion 08 features an “Ocean Aesthetics” design. The front end is characterised by wave-shaped daytime running lights and vertical split headlights. The side profile exhibits rounded lines with semi-hidden door handles, while the rear is finished with connected taillights that echo the front design. InteriorThe interior continues the wrap-around cockpit design of the Ocean series, featuring a floating central control screen (estimated at 15.6 inches) and an integrated digital instrument cluster. The second row includes a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted screen, a 25-speaker Devialet sound system, an onboard refrigerator, a functional control screen, and a small folding table. The model shown in official imagery features a 6-seat layout with zero-gravity seats in the second row that support ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Specifications and performanceThe Sealion 08 is equipped with technologies including Cell-to-Body (CTB) integration, the fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, rear-wheel steering, the DiSus-A intelligent body control system, dual-chamber air suspension, and a road preview system. Powertrains: PHEV Version: Powered by a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system with an engine maximum power of 115 kW (154 hp). It is available in single-motor (200 kW / 268 hp) and dual-motor configurations (both front and rear motors at 200 kW / 268 hp each). The pure electric range is 275 km to 300 km (WLTC) and up to 400 km (CLTC). BEV Version: Offers three power configurations. Single-motor versions deliver 320 kW (430 hp) or 370 kW (496 hp). The dual-motor version features a front motor of 215 kW (288 hp) and a rear motor of 370 kW (496 hp).
