On February 9, XPeng announced that it has officially joined the Netherlands’ mobility industry association BOVAG, becoming the first Chinese automaker admitted since the organization’s founding 90 years ago. This follows XPeng’s entry into the Netherlands Automobile Industry Association (RAI) in 2022 and marks another endorsement from a major local industry body. The move indicates that XPeng has passed the Netherlands’ relatively stringent industry compliance reviews, completing a critical step for its long-term operations in Europe. XPeng G6 and P7 In the Dutch automotive market, BOVAG covers multiple segments including vehicle sales, maintenance, financial services and mobility solutions, and has long been involved in shaping industry rules and standards. The BOVAG system is highly trusted by local consumers, with nearly 80% of users prioritizing BOVAG membership status when selecting car brands or service providers. Following its admission, XPeng will leverage BOVAG’s industry standards and ecosystem resources to further upgrade its local sales network, after-sales service system and warranty policies. From a market perspective, the Netherlands is one of Europe’s countries with the highest penetration of new energy vehicles. Xpeng G6 It placed strict requirements on product safety, after-sales transparency and corporate compliance. This has made it an important proving ground for Chinese automakers entering Europe. According to the latest data released by BOVAG, passenger vehicle registrations in the Netherlands reached 28,347 units in January 2026. Battery electric vehicle registrations totaled 7,165 units, accounting for a 25.3% market share. XPeng expanded its sales operations into the Netherlands in 2022, becoming one of the earliest Chinese new-vehicle startups to enter the market. In recent years, it has advanced its business mainly through dealer networks and localized services. Xpeng G9 At present, XPeng sells models including the G6, G9 and P7 in the Dutch market. Official data show that in 2025, XPeng ranked first among Chinese new-vehicle brands by sales volume in the Netherlands. By the end of 2025, XPeng’s business covered 60 countries and regions worldwide, with cumulative overseas deliveries exceeding 45,000 units, up 96% year-on-year. This placed XPeng first among Chinese new-vehicle brands in pure electric overseas deliveries and second among Chinese domestic brands in pure electric vehicle exports.
