In fact, it is one of the rarest cars in the world. So being able to see one of the British supercars out in the wild is something to be savored.McLaren made just 106 cars from 1992 to 1998, and there are some places where there are just solitary examples of the $20 million supercar. One of those places is Hong Kong. The special administrative region of China is home to just one example of the F1.With only one in the area, sightings of the supercar are incredibly rare. However, a video has recently surfaced on Instagram that shows this incredible machine caught out in the wild. As is to be expected, the car spotter rushes over to try to capture this super rare sight on camera.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe owner of the McLaren, meanwhile, just goes about their business as if nothing is happening. But the person behind the camera was very excited to spot this McLaren supercar. The fact that it is the only one in Hong Kong makes it even more special. The Only McLaren F1 in Hong KongA search through the internet reveals that there used to be two of these McLaren F1s allocated to Hong Kong. One was chassis #016, and this was finished in an Aubergine Pearl color. This car spent 18 years under a single owner in Hong Kong; however, it was sent back to the UK for servicing, and then it was sold earlier in 2026, and it left Hong Kong permanently. That left just the second car, chassis #063. This is the one that was spotted in the video posted on Instagram. The car allegedly belongs to a prominent local collector, and it has been frequently driven around the city. Its current owner is said to have had the car since it underwent a major factory restoration conducted by McLaren Special Operations, ensuring the car is in almost as-new condition. In contrast to the other former McLaren F1 in Hong Kong, this example is finished in Magnesium Silver, one of the most striking colors for the supercar. The car is seen cruising through Hong Kong's streets in the video before it makes its way to a private parking facility. What Is the Most Famous McLaren F1?Image Credit: VINwiki/YouTubeThere are several contenders for the most famous McLaren F1s. Some of the cars have led nomadic lives and have rarely been seen in the public eye. There are others, such as Rowan Atkinson's example, the actor who played Mr Bean and Blackadder. Perhaps the most famous, however, and the most mysterious is the one that belonged to El Chapo. This supercar is chassis #039, once owned by Ron Dennis, but it eventually made its way to Mexico and into the hands of El Chapo.AdvertisementAdvertisementSources indicated over the years that it was likely owned by a cartel lieutenant, and not Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán himself. However, the association stuck. In 1997, Humberto Ojeda, the alleged owner of the car, was killed, and any information on the car instantly dried up. It was alleged that the keys were lost and that the car was hidden away. Ed Bolian from VINwiki has been searching far and wide for the car, but as yet, he hasn't been able to find the missing supercar. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
