Gasgoo Munich- CATL and Galbot recently signed a global strategic partnership agreement. The parties will upgrade smart manufacturing lines and promote the global use of embodied intelligence robots. They will also jointly create aftermarket service standards for embodied intelligence. The collaboration centers on Galbot's heavy-duty humanoid robot, the Galbot S1. It is the first embodied intelligence robot in routine global operation equipped with a CATL battery. The Galbot S1 has a 50-kg payload per arm and centimeter-level vision-based positioning. It features 360° obstacle avoidance. Powered by a CATL battery, it achieves an 8-hour runtime. This ensures long service life and high safety in production line operations.Image source: CATLThe Galbot S1 has entered CATL's smart production lines. It handles long-haul autonomous tasks in module and pack production. The robot replaces human labor in high-intensity tasks like material handling and picking.Since passing acceptance at the Ningde HX base in March, the Galbot S1 has worked on CATL's mass production lines for over three months. It operates 24/7, ensuring uninterrupted line operation.Galbot and CATL are deepening cooperation in scenarios like loading, unloading, and cell sorting. This includes screw fastening and wire harness assembly.Image source: GalbotCATL Ning Service will extend its scope from power batteries and energy storage systems to embodied intelligence robots. Its system covers testing, maintenance, and recycling. The parties will establish the world's first aftermarket service standard for embodied intelligence.Ning Service is an independent aftermarket brand launched by CATL in 2024. It builds a service ecosystem focused on new energy, zero carbon, and the circular economy. The business covers over 80 countries with 1,300 service outlets. It possesses industry-leading warehousing and operational capabilities.Ning Service will combine Galbot's robotic products and technical capabilities. It will upgrade its global network of 1,300 service stations into an embodied intelligence robot service network. This realizes "multi-functional stations."By the end of 2025, CATL had deployed the humanoid robot "Xiao Mo" at its Zhongzhou base. The robot, from Qianxi Intelligence, works on a power battery pack production line. Qianxi Intelligence is part of CATL's ecosystem."Xiao Mo" is equipped with a CATL-developed battery. In practical applications, it completes complex tasks like inserting battery connectors. CATL stated that "Xiao Mo" has a stable insertion success rate over 99%. Its operational cycle time matches that of a skilled worker.Furthermore, "Xiao Mo" detects wire harness connection status and reports abnormalities. This reduces defect rates. It switches to patrol mode during breaks. Facing continuous production of multiple battery models, "Xiao Mo" tripled its daily workload.
