Fernando Barragan, his brother, captured what went down on video and provided it to KSBW. Per Barragan's account, he was waved through without issue, while his brother in the McLaren was turned away."They were gonna let me in because I don't have a supercar but they weren't gonna let my brother in because he's in a McLaren," Barragan said.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe McLaren driver's response was not especially calm. "That's profiling. That's racism towards cars," he told the camera. Parked just beyond the lot's edge, the brothers voiced their frustration by aggressively revving their engines beside a cluster of trucks, with one of them calling out that "the actual idiots are in the trucks."Why the In-N-Out Had Security in the First PlaceThe Seaside location apparently became an unofficial late-night Car Week congregation point during the 2025 event, drawing crowds that prompted businesses across the Monterey Peninsula to bring in extra security for 2026. As of August 10, In-N-Out had not released any public statement clarifying whether the guard acted on official company policy or exercised his own discretion in turning the driver away.If there's an actual policy barring supercars from the lot during Car Week, it's at least coherent crowd-control logic, even if it's a bit absurd to be told your McLaren is the problem at a burger joint full of sports cars. If it was one guards' call, that's a different story entirely. Either way, In-N-Out hasn't said. Car Week runs through August 16, so there's still time for this to happen again – or for someone at corporate to pick up the phone.
