The vehicle is available in two variants, Ultra and Livis, with a price range between 459,800 yuan (67,600 USD) and 509,800 yuan (75,000 USD). The Livis introduces 800V active suspension and a full wire-controlled chassis. Refined design and dimensions The new Li Auto L9 maintains its presence while optimising details. The “Star Ring” LED strip is now more seamless and supports three-colour lighting. Combined with ADB matrix headlights and new Ultra-Wideband (UWB) sensing technology, the vehicle offers lighting interactions as the driver approaches. In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 5255mm in length, 2000mm in width, and 1810mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3125mm. The exterior profile is enhanced by a shortened front overhang (reduced by 30mm) and an extended rear overhang (increased by 40mm), paired with 22-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin has undergone a digital overhaul. The previous dual-screen setup has been replaced by a single 29-inch ultra-wide panoramic screen with a 92.4% screen-to-body ratio. This 6K display is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 Elite flagship chip, delivering an NPU computing power of 320 TOPS and a 90Hz refresh rate. For audiophiles, the L9 features the “Immaculate Star Ring Theatre” sound system, a 9.3.6 surround sound configuration with a peak power of 5440W. Side and rear of the Li Auto L9. Intelligence and chassis tech The high-spec model is equipped with four LiDAR sensors and two self-developed 5nm “Mach 100” chips. This dual-chip configuration provides a total computing power of 2560 TOPS, supporting full-scenario Navigation on ADAS (NOA) across highways and urban roads nationwide. For the chassis, the 800V active suspension allows each wheel to be adjusted independently, eliminating brake dive and body roll during cornering. Furthermore, the full wire-controlled chassis includes steer-by-wire and electromechanical braking (EMB). The inclusion of four-wheel steering allows this large SUV to achieve a tight turning radius of 5.3km. Performance and range The new Li Auto L9 is powered by a third-generation self-developed 1.5T range extender coupled with a dual-motor intelligent all-wheel-drive system. The system delivers a total power output of 420 kW (563 hp) and a peak torque of 710N·m, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds. Energy is stored in a 72.7 kWh battery pack. Under CLTC conditions, the vehicle achieves a pure electric range of 420 km and a combined range of 1,650km. The L9 also supports 5C supercharging with a peak power of 420 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 10 minutes. The WLTC fuel consumption when the battery is depleted drops to 6.3 L/100 km, a nearly 20% reduction compared to the previous model. Li Auto sales performance. Over the past 12 months, Li Auto’s sales have been falling year-on-year for most of the time. In the range-extended vehicle sector, it’s facing increasing competitive pressure, and people also seem to be shifting more towards pure electric. One consolation for Li Auto is that its pure electric model, the i6, was the fourth best-selling car in China this past April. Interior of the Li Auto L9.
