Hertz Selling its Shelby Mustang Mach-Es for CheapHertzIn case you missed it, Hertz offered a small number of Shelby Mustang Mach-E GTH rental cars for a couple of years. Now, it’s trying to offload the EV SUVss—and it’s doing so at a huge discount. The Shelby EVs started life as Mach-E GT models before receiving the traditional Hertz Shelby appearance treatment. For those unfamiliar with the Hertz Mustang history, that means black paint with gold stripes. It also has a fairly extensive bodykit with a splitter, unique front grille and lower door trim in carbon fiber.Output is the same as a typical Mach-E GT at 480 horsepower, but the ride height has been lowered, and forged wheels should supply a small weight advantage. Shelby also added the Borla simulated exhaust to all of these cars, so you’ll be serenaded by a fake V-8 soundtrack. Inside, there’s a dash plaque noting the car’s number and Carroll Shelby’s signature.HertzPer the prices on Hertz’s used car listings, picking one of these unique Mach-Es up will run you about $40,000. That’s a big discount. CarScoops initially noticed the new prices, which are significantly lower than the first time Hertz tried to sell these cars; the going rate last year was over $60,000. Still, even that price is surely far less than what Hertz paid for these vehicles, as a regular Mach-E GT without any of the Shelby add-ons in 2023 went for at least $54,195.AdvertisementAdvertisementYou can take a look through the listings on Hertz's sales site here. Cars range in mileage from as little as 3275 miles to 15,153; the price is essentially the same no matter the miles, but do keep in mind that these are rental cars, so who knows what kind of abuse they’ve lived through. (We’d take a close look at the low-hanging splitter and closely inspect the black-painted forged wheels before pulling the trigger.)All of these Shelby Mach-Es are located in the South, with the greatest concentration hanging out in Florida. If an oddball Shelby-badged Mach-E is what gets you excited, this deal could be the one to take from Hertz. And as of this story’s publishing, only 31 are left in inventory, so act fast. You Might Also LikeIf You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
