Ford Mustang GTD Owner Hilariously Takes Delivery At Porsche DealerFord is asking the better part of $350,000 for its Mustang GTD. Yes, it's quick and powerful and all that, but for that price, owners demand more. Ford's answer to that demand includes a service that lets you take delivery of your GTD anywhere you want. It even highlighted that service just a few weeks ago.Of course, these deliveries anywhere are within reason. We don't think an intrepid GTD owner could pick up the winged pony at Area 51, but still, this particular delivery is one that Ford likely didn't expect. We don't think Ford minds, though, since this owner in Las Vegas just took delivery of his car in the home of GTD's arch rival. This Is Some Top-Tier Trolling Yes, folks. That's a Mustang GTD sitting at a Porsche dealership, where the owner took delivery. When we first saw photos of the brand-new Mustang GTD on Reddit (via Motor1), we thought the owner was having a laugh. Taking their new ride to their local Porsche store as a joke, to show off Ford's 911 GT3-fighter on that car's home turf. But there are more images and even video, and they aren't from the front of the store. The owner, John, who goes by wolf0fallstreets on Instagram, officially took delivery at Porsche Henderson. The car was even brought from an enclosed trailer right into the showroom, with a message of congratulations and the GTD logo on the dealer's giant TV display wall. It's a strange, but appropriate sight. The brand-new GTD is parked under the words of Ferry Porsche, who built the company his father started, which read: "I think the sports car is actually a pioneer for new things, as it has been in the past and will continue to be in the future." The epic GTD is definitely up to that challenge. Why is the GTD in a Porsche showroom, though? John, the buyer, is also a big fan of German sports cars. His social media shows a Porsche 911 GT3 in his garage, as well as a Porsche Taycan Turbo Sport Turismo. There are some classic 911s in the collection as well. There's also a modern Boss 302 Mustang. Ford Did Say Deliveries Would Be 'Unforgettable' Admittedly, this particular delivery isn't as extreme as you might think. The group that owns this Porsche dealer also owns a local Ford store. We're making an assumption, but it's safe to say that if you've had a series of Porsches and got an allocation for a GTD, you're probably good friends with that dealer. That's probably worth a few hours of Ford propaganda in the middle of a Porsche showroom. In February, Ford Mustang GTD brand manager Joe Bellino posted that "It’s the owner’s day and a big moment, so it’s our role to make it as seamless, informed, and unforgettable as possible." We're not sure if this is what he had in mind.Porsche will get the last laugh, though. The 911 GT3 RS's 6:49 time on the Nürburgring in Germany is still quicker than the 6:52 Ford managed on its second attempt. Though the newer standard GT3 is four seconds slower than the Ford, this was the track the GTD was made to tame.As for the owner, the green and black paintwork they picked for this 815-horsepower GTD is stunning. The yellow stripe down the middle is a perfect touch, even if it looks a little like Aston Martin's F1 livery.
