Rafael Ben-Ari/Chameleons Eye/Newscom/The Mega Agency; Google MapsA Kansas man who bought a used Ford Mustang GT as a gift for his daughter ended up without the car, its title or the money he paid to have its transmission replaced.The ordeal began in September 2024, when the man purchased a 2006 Ford Mustang GT from Sunset Auto Sales in Wichita, according to a report from NBC affiliate KSNW.Despite paying for the Mustang, the man never received its title, leaving the family unable to register the car.However, the problems didn't end there.After paying for other repairs out of pocket, the Mustang's transmission failed. The dealership took the car back and charged the customer to replace the transmission, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office, per KSNW.Ingram Publishing/Newscom/The Mega AgencyBut prosecutors said the dealership never replaced the transmission and didn't return the Mustang to the customer."When the consumer asked for a refund, since he was left without a working vehicle or the paperwork needed to drive it legally, the dealership responded with promises to take corrective action but never corrected the issues," the attorney's office said in a news release.A second customer later filed a similar complaint against the dealership.Newscom/Mega AgencyAfter Sunset Auto Sales was given multiple opportunities to resolve the complaints, Assistant District Attorney Chris Garcia filed a lawsuit against the dealership and its manager.
