Alpha-N has created several lightweight carbon fiber parts for the M2. Key upgrades include a new hood, front splitter, and swan-neck rear wing. These parts for the BMW F87 M2 Competition are available in the US. The second-generation BMW M2 may offer more performance than its predecessor, but in terms of design, the original exceeds the current car in every metric. Now, thanks to Alpha-N, the original M2 can look a little more aggressive, offering more choice to those not interested in buying parts directly from M Performance. Alpha-N already sells upgrades for the current M2 and turned its attention to the F87 M2 Competition for its latest project, dubbed the Alpha-N Corse. A host of carbon fiber parts are now available for the model, with a keen focus on track performance but still suitable for the street. An all-carbon hood has also been designed for the car, complete with prominent air-extraction vents to keep the engine bay slightly cooler. Joining this hood are carbon louvers on the front arches, seemingly inspired by those found on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Carbon Ain’t Cheap The tweaks continue along the sides with available side-skirt extensions. Perhaps the biggest change is the use of two different swan-neck-style rear wings. BMW M2 owners looking to match the aggressive looks with improved handling can also order TTX coilovers from Ohlins, which offer independent rebound and compression adjustment. If you own an F87 M2 Competition and like what you see, you’ll be pleased to know you don’t need to live in Germany, where Alpha-N is based, to order these parts. Indeed, they’re available throughout the US, Canada, and South America thanks to IND Distribution. The upgrades aren’t cheap. For example, the carbon fiber hood costs a cool €3,950 ($4,650), the smaller swan-neck wing is €3,790 ($4,460), the front louvers are €3,199 ($3,760) for a pair, the carbon kidney grilles are €995 ($1,170), the front splitter is €1,599 ($1,880), and the Ohlins coilovers are €3,945 ($4,640).
