2027 BMW F 450 GSMotorrad knows motorcycles are expensive these days, so it made an afforadble one.BMW's new F 450 GS is one of those motorcycles that's been hotly anticipated since its introduction a number of months ago. We already got our first taste, and came away incredibly impressed by the bite-sized adventure motorcycle. But there was a lingering question hanging over the motorcycle's head. How much was it going to cost?Today's economy is not...great. And, routinely, when the economy falls into a slump, as we're seeing now, big purchases that are more toy-like are the first to get axed from folks' list of wants and needs. Motorcycles, especially so, as in recent years, they've only become more expensive. But those motorcycle manufacturers that have pivoted to entry-level and small-displacement motorcycles that are actually affordable have only seen their stocks rise, as people still absolutely want new bikes. So when I tell you that BMW not only delivered a great motorcycle, but one with a fantastically affordable price, believe it. Folks, BMW is going to have a hit with this adventure motorcycle, as it's going to set you back just $7,000.2027 BMW F 450 GSCheap And CheerfulGive Us This Cheap As Hell Retro Honda Motorcycle Now!The CFMoto Ibex 950 Is an Adventure Motorcycle Aimed At the Big Dogs, But With an Introductory PriceHonestly, that's a ridiculously low price. When BMW first introduced the F 450 GS, I was thinking that it was going to cost way closer to $10,000, as BMW's tend to command those sort of prices. Add the current tariff situation, plus freight, delivery, engineering, etc, and BMW's own roundel history (which tends to inflate prices), and you'd have likely been led to the same conclusion as I did.But that's not the case. No, instead of going high-priced, BMW figured out how to go mainstream. And that's going to pay off dividends for the company when it goes on sale to the public here in the States in Q1 of 2027."With the new BMW F 450 GS, BMW Motorrad presents a genuine BMW GS in the 48 hp A2 class," said BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch, speaking about the motorcycle licensing tiers in Europe and elsewhere. He added, "It embodies the essence of a GS: Get on, twist the throttle, have fun - with full control and maximum confidence. Its low weight, superior performance and perfect balance between agility and stability ensure a particularly intuitive riding experience. Thanks to its precise handling and typical GS expertise, it performs impressively both on and off the road. The F 450 GS is the perfect 'best buddy' for every riding situation. It is uncomplicated, robust, and always ready. It sets the benchmark for sporty adventure bikes in its class."As mentioned by Flasch, the 420cc parallel-twin engine produces 48 horsepower and 32 pounds-foot of torque, while customers can choose between a normal 6-speed manual transmission or BMW's automatic. You also get KYB suspension both front and rear, Brembo brakes, and multiple riding modes to handle whatever you point the motorcycle's front wheel toward. There's also a host of accessories, and riders will be able to choose between a Sport and GS Trophy model, which will change up what options and parts come with the bike.Honestly, I'm stoked for this bike to make it to our shores. I've long held the belief that the way forward for the motorcycling industry ain't through high-priced, high-horsepower motorcycles, but with affordable, more friendly motorcycles, both for new riders and those aging out and not wanting all the power.
