Pickings are slim if you want a stick-shift, rear-drive, four-door sedan. Near nonexistent. Add in the requirement of a V8, and that number drops to just one: the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The Blackwing serves as Cadillac's peak performance vehicle, adopting a truly unique experience that used to be much more commonplace. For 2026, the experience will be even more niche and exclusive with the debut of the new CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector's Series. It's the most limited model in the lineup, and simultaneously the most powerful.CadillacThe new F1 model celebrates the debut of Cadillac's new Formula 1 team. The look and added power are both intended to convey one thing: Cadillac will win in F1. Power is boosted by upgrading the supercharger on the 6.2-liter V8, resulting in a ridiculous 685 horsepower and 673 pound-feet of torque. Respectively, those represent increases of 17 and 14. Only 26 will be built as a nod to the year (this one, of course) that Cadillac is entering Formula 1.Though you can order your Blackwing with an automatic transmission, all F1 models will come standard with the car's six-speed manual, with a shifter embossed with the F1 logo and the FIA logo on the console. In keeping with the brand's sporting intentions, all will also arrive with the optional Precision package, which adds track-ready suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes with drilled rotors, and race-ready Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R summer tires.CadillacAll cars will look identical, finished in a matte Midnight Stone Frost hue with gray wheels and brake calipers. The interior will also be all murdered-out, with black seats and more F1 logos.AdvertisementAdvertisementPricing isn't out yet, but the cost to own the last stick, rear-drive, V8 sports sedan will surely be a heavy one - the "ordinary" Blackwing starts at $99,190.This story was originally published by Men's Journal on Jun 16, 2026, where it first appeared in the News section.
