2027 Rolls-Royce Spectre Gains Range and TorqueRolls-Royce (Rolls-Royce)Rolls-Royce has updated the Spectre, with the Series II model boasting over 300 miles of range, an 18 percent improvement. The two-door electric coupe is more powerful too, with the Black Badge model now spitting out 670 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque.Inside, there are new upholstery options, including the Duality Twill fabric made from bamboo and the Placed Perforation leather that can create artistic patterns. After three years on sale, Rolls-Royce is updating its electric two-door behemoth. The Spectre Series II may not look much different on the outside from the original version that launched for the 2024 model year, but it brings a slew of updates, including increased range, more torque, and even more ornate interior decorations.Rolls-Royce (Rolls-Royce)Thanks to "re-engineered battery cell technology," the Spectre's range has improved by 18 percent. On Europe's optimistic WLTP test cycle, the Spectre will now travel 390 miles on a charge, which should translate to around 326 miles in the United States, up from a maximum of 277 EPA-estimated miles. The Spectre also charges 14 percent quicker, the company claims.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe dual-motor powertrain already packed a hefty punch, but Rolls-Royce decided to eke out even more oomph. In the standard model, power rises from 577 to 592 horses, while torque jumps from 664 to 748 pound-feet. The Black Badge model now maxes out at 670 hp and 811 pound-feet, an increase of 20 and 18, respectively.Rolls-Royce (Rolls-Royce)Rolls-Royce's other changes center around making the Spectre even more customizable and decadent. While the exterior design is essentially identical, with split headlights flanking the prominent Pantheon grille, the grand brand is introducing a new paint color called Ethereal Blue and newly designed 23-inch forged alloy wheels.Inside, there's a new material called Duality Twill, a rayon fabric made from bamboo. The textile wears an embroidered "Duality" graphic featuring a pair of ovals, apparently an abstract interpretation of the interlocking R's in the Rolls-Royce badge and inspired by the rope lines found on sailing yachts. Rolls-Royce says Spectres with the Duality Twill interior feature up to 2.6 million stitches and 10 miles of thread, and it takes up to 25 hours to finish. Four hues are available—Lilac, Chocolate, Black, and Sage—with over 50 different colors offered for the stitching. If Duality Twill isn't your thing, the Spectre Series II now offers Placed Perforation leather, which uses precision-cut holes to create artistic patterns in the seating surfaces. The style seen here is meant to emulate the "shifting silhouettes cast by clouds in moonlight," and it's made up of 78,138 perforations in three different sizes. The perforations can also adorn the illuminated door panels, where they become backlit.AdvertisementAdvertisementThere's a new high-gloss Brindled Walnut veneer too, which combines walnut wood with "residual eucalyptus fibres from fine paper production" to create a tiger stripe pattern. A lacquer "infused with a fine powder of glass flakes" creates a shimmering effect. Rolls-Royce also created a new "Illuminated Fascia" graphic for the dashboard, with a wave pattern consisting of 8108 individual lights.Rolls-Royce (Rolls-Royce)The clock set into the dashboard features a fresh design and now sits above a tiny up-lit Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. Black Badge models also receive a new Iced Black exterior trim package that brings a matte finish, along with a new wheel design. There's no word on pricing just yet for the updated Spectre, which should arrive for the 2027 model year. It will likely start a bit higher than it does right now, with the standard model currently costing $397,750 and the Black Badge requiring $467,750.➡️ Skip the lot.
