When Hyundai revealed the Ioniq 6's refreshed 2026 lineup earlier this year, the brand made sure to hide glimpses of the forthcoming N variant in plain view. After months of anticipation, we finally get to see the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N in full, and the view does not disappoint.
Enter the Ioniq 6 N
Many of the visual changes from the refresh carry over to the N-rated 6 , including the new streamlined headlights. A combination of a more aggressive front end, wider fenders, and a swan-neck rear wing helps make the 6 N look hot enough to earn a Scoville rating that's north of 1,000,000.
2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N
The N-branded electric sedan shares its powertrain with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. That means a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration that makes 601 horsepower most of the time, but an N Grin Boost button will juice the motors up to 641 horsepower for 10 seconds. Hyundai claims the Ioniq 6 N will accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds when using the N Launch Control feature. Considering we managed three seconds flat to 60 mph when we tested the Ioniq 5 N, we think the 6er could beat that corporate estimate. Hyundai also says if you keep your foot in it, the top speed caps out at 160 mph.
If you liked the 5 N's simulated internal-combustion soundtrack, you're in luck. If you didn't, you're still in luck—just turn the system off. Hyundai says the N e-Shift system was updated to minimize performance loss and improve sound quality thanks to updated hardware and acoustic fine-tuning. We'll be the judge of that.
2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N
Performance Upgrades
Stopping the Ioniq 6 N is handled by four-piston front calipers and single-piston rear units that respectively clamp 15.7- and 14.1-inch rotors. The big brakes are fronted by a set of 20-inch wheels wrapped in 275-section-width Pirelli P Zero 5 summer tires that were developed specifically for the new N model. Hyundai says the suspension geometry and chassis calibration are new too. The suspension setup adds new stroke-sensing electronically controlled dampers, which integrate a sensor to adjust damping force based on changing driving conditions.
Hyundai says the 6 N will use the same 84.0-kWh battery as the Ioniq 5 N, which has an EPA-estimated range of 221 miles. We only managed 190 miles on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test with that model on a full charge.
2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N
Hyundai hasn't revealed pricing or when the new model will be available, but thankfully, we aren't totally in the dark. Given that we know non-N Ioniq 6's are about $5000 cheaper than their Ioniq 5 counterparts, and that the 2025 Ioniq 5 N starts at $67,800—we can assume the hot new sedan will come in somewhere around the $60,000 price point.
