Two Mansory-tuned Smart Fortwos are listed in France for up to $82,300. They feature carbon fiber bodykits, custom interiors, and tiny engines. The same money buys you a used Porsche 718, Alpine A110, or Toyota GR Supra. There’s a new Smart #2 arriving later this year as the discontinued Fortwo’s successor, swapping combustion for batteries and adding a more upmarket cabin. For buyers still clinging to internal combustion, though, Mansory’s take on the old city car is out there waiting. All it asks is deep pockets and a complete disregard for value. French dealer Royal Cars currently has two of them on offer, both wearing Mansory bodywork and both priced like proper mid-engine sports cars. The bodykit covers the predictable bases: wide fender flares, a front splitter, side intake garnish, a roof spoiler, and a rear diffuser flanked by quad tailpipes. It does, however, skip the AMG-style bumper intakes that Mansory sells separately as part of the so-called soft kit. Royal Cars Company The modified Smart rolls on 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels with a fully reworked cabin inside. The listing skips interior photos, but the Mansory treatment typically buries the two-seater in Alcantara and leather, with carbon fiber inserts throughout. Finished in Matte Military Green, it wears the same wide bodykit and carbon fiber accents but swaps in a different set of black wheels. Drop the fabric roof and you find a beige leather interior underneath. Both models use Smart’s 900cc (0.9-liter) turbocharged three-cylinder engine, sending drive to the rear axle through an automatic transmission. While stock output is 89 hp (66 kW / 90 PS) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque, Mansory’s tune pushes those figures to 123 hp (92 kW / 125 PS) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft). A healthy bump in absolute terms, harder to justify once you check the price. Royal Cars Company Ready? The grey hatch is listed at €67,900 ($80,000). The matte green cabrio goes one better at €69,900 ($82,300). At those numbers, you are within reach of lightly used Porsche 718 Caymans, Alpine A110s, and Toyota GR Supras, making the Mansory Smart a hard sell. The fully electric Smart #2 is expected to be more expensive than its predecessors, bringing significantly increased range, a slightly larger footprint, and upmarket features. Still, it will likely be a bargain when compared to the aforementioned Mansory-tuned Fortwos. Smart Concept #2
