Toyota has announced it will unveil its new flagship supercar on December 5, 2025 alongside other all-new “sports models.” Based on the teaser image accompanying the announcement, we will finally get to see the GR GT and its racing version in their entirety, with the production version of the Lexus Sport Concept also sharing the stage. The Gazoo Racing cars were previewed by the GT Concept and GT Racing Concept earlier this year when prototypes took part in the Goodwood hillclimb in July. Meanwhile, the Lexus Sport Concept was shown at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering event held in August before making an appearance at the Japan Mobility Show. All three cars are expected to be powered by a new twin-turbo V8 with a hybrid assist system, with the Lexus model said to be a successor to the legendary LFA. It was initially assumed that the production version of the GT Concept would be badged a Lexus, but with the reveal of the Sport Concept, it’s now clear that Toyota wants each of its GR and Lexus brands to have a flagship to call their own. Toyota GR GT teaser On the GR GT, the supercar was teased in a commercial aired in Japan recently. In the video that is lacking in brightness, we get to see the finished, uncamouflaged model driving together with the 2000GT and LFA. A view of the interior was available earlier during the Goodwood event. As for the racing version, it was previewed as far back as 2022 with the GR GT3 Concept, which would be refined to become the GT Racing Concept. The teaser shows a generous amount of venting, including over the wheel arches, along with a roll cage and Michelin race tyres. Meanwhile, the production Lexus Sport Concept will look completely different from its GR stablemate. Where the full-width light bar on the GR GT has a curvier signature, the Lexus adopts a more angular look that extends down the sides. As with the concept, the buttresses are more stylistic to simulate a “floating roof” and the rear glass is of a different shape with graphics on them. Lexus Sport Concept We also notice that the F1-style brake light near the bottom diffuser, which is present on the concept, is missing on the car in the teaser. Given these cues, the final design of production version will likely stay true to the concept, including the wild front lighting and sharp face. We will find out more when Toyota reveals all on its special day on December 5. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube from 11am in Japan, which is 10am for us here in Malaysia.
