When many people hear the name Shelby they think of the famous Cobra, but Carroll Shelby added a lot more serious power to other vehicles as well. His work with Ford is legendary and the Mustangs that came out of the Shelby American in Venice, California (they later moved to a hanger at LAX), had some serious power. Initially Shelby took a standard Mustang and modified a Windser 289 cubic inch V8 engine. The car was dubbed the Shelby GT350 and rolled out in 1965. In 1967 he dropped a tuned 428 cubic inch Police Interceptor V8 into a Mustang and it became a Shelby GT500. Each of these machines were represented at this year's City of Blue Ash and The Untouchables Classic Car Show. Also on display was a Buick Wildcat convertible, a Chevrolet Impala, a Chevy El Camino, a Porsche Panamera, and a C4 Chevy Corvette.
