William Li, CEO of NIO, revealed during a livestream last night that the new ONVO L60 will be previewed at the end of May and officially launched in June. As a yearly facelift model, the exterior design of the new car sees only minor changes, but both its intelligent features and battery swap experience have been comprehensively upgraded. William Li shared during the livestream that the core competitiveness of the new L60 lies in its debut integration of three key NIO technologies: the 5nm autonomous driving chip “Shenji NX9031”, the NIO World Model, and the AI-oriented whole-vehicle operating system SkyOS. Official MIIT images of the new L60. In terms of specific autonomous driving solutions, the new L60 offers two options: the high‑end version is equipped with the Shenji NX9031 chip and the Coconut+ system, with an optional LiDAR; the standard version comes with the Orin X chip and the Coconut pure vision perception system. Users can choose flexibly based on their actual needs and budgets. As for the exterior, the new L60 largely follows the current design, but the company emphasizes a more “simple, dynamic, and tech‑forward” look. Referring to the official images already published by MIIT, the front fascia adopts a new design with a smoother and cleaner front bumper. Meanwhile, the new car will offer optional LiDAR and various rear badges. Current ONVO L60. Beyond the vehicle’s own upgrades, the ONVO brand continues to improve the charging and battery swapping experience. Earlier this year, ONVO completed a nationwide doubling of batteries at its swap stations, adding more than 8,000 batteries – more than doubling the user experience. According to Shen Fei, President of ONVO, by the end of this year, the number of ONVO‑accessible swap stations across China will exceed 3,300. It is worth adding that just yesterday, the NIO ES9 set a new record for the shortest time to complete 10,000 kilometers in a pure electric vehicle, with a time of 94 hours, 19 minutes and 11 seconds. The previous record holder was the ONVO L60, which successfully completed the challenge on July 8, 2025. This achievement can also be seen as the best testament to the improved charging and swapping experience across all NIO Group brands. NIO ES9 successfully sets 10,000 km record. As of today, NIO has built 8,858 charging and swapping stations nationwide, including 3,843 swap stations, 5,015 charging stations, and 28,833 charging posts, having provided over 100 million battery swap services cumulatively. Regarding the most anticipated price of the new ONVO L60, for reference, the current model starts at RMB 206,900 (approx. USD 28,538) for the vehicle purchase, or RMB 149,900 (approx. USD 20,676) under the BaaS battery subscription plan. Considering the upgrades in chips, the autonomous driving system, and the operating system, cost pressure has increased significantly. Whether the final pricing will be raised slightly will be revealed at the end of May.
