Yet another teaser has been released by Perodua for its upcoming model, which the national carmaker indicates is just one day away from debut. As with its previous teaser, the crossover codenamed D66B that is tipped to be named the Traz is shown within shadows, this time offering a view of its side profile. Much of its basic form will take after the Toyota Yaris Cross that has been in the Indonesia and Thailand markets since 2023, albeit with detail differences which will set the Perodua apart from its Toyota relation. 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross, Thailand market For reference, the Yaris Cross in Indonesia gets a 2NR-VE 1.5 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 106 PS and 138 Nm, and this paired with either a five-speed manual or a CVT for that market. In Thailand, the B-SUV gets a hybrid powertrain pairing a 91 PS/121 Nm 2NR-VEX 1.5 litre NA four-cylinder with an 80 PS/141 Nm e-motor for a combined 111 PS. Much is shared between the Traz and the Toyota Yaris Cross, and the latter has scored a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating in August this year. Its positioning above the Ativa means its pricing can be expected to be higher than that model’s RM62,500 starting price, and which ranges up to RM73,400 for the AV variant’s two-tone paint option. Pricing, and more about the Perodua Traz will be revealed when its launches tomorrow.
