The Best-Selling Lexus WorldwideLexus has been testing an updated RX on public roads for quite some time now, and after rumors surfaced a few months back, it's finally here. There's just one catch: don't go looking for any major visual changes.Japan gets the first taste of the refreshed RX, but Lexus clearly spent most of its energy where you can't see it. That's not a bad call, considering the Lexus RX is the brand's global sales champ. When you're sitting at the top, a new grille or some shiny headlights just won't cut it.This time around, Lexus zeroed in on the RX's driving manners and sprinkled in some new gear to make daily life a bit smoother.LexusThe Nürburgring Had a Hand in the RX's ChassisThe biggest changes are underneath the familiar RX body. Lexus says it further developed the SUV's handling stability and ride comfort at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama before taking the vehicle to Germany's Nürburgring for additional testing and tuning. For the RX500h, RX450h+, and RX350h AWD, Lexus tweaked the Adaptive Variable Suspension for better damping, and the engineers didn't stop there – they also fiddled with the electric power steering and dynamic rear steering to sharpen things up.Instead of adding more power, the mission was to make the RX feel more dialed in and natural behind the wheel. The suspension is tuned to stay composed over rough patches while keeping that plush RX vibe. There are a couple of changes you can actually see, but don't blink or you'll miss them. The version L gets a new White Nova Glass Flake paint option, and if you're feeling spicy, you can now spec red brake calipers on the F SPORT and F SPORT Performance models.Inside, every RX now comes with IR-cut front door glass, and the brake hold function finally remembers your last setting when you fire it up again. More importantly, the RX350h and RX350 finally catch up to the RX500h and RX450h+ with a digital rearview mirror and a drive recorder that covers both ends, now standard across the board.LexusJapan Gets It First, With Higher PricesThe refreshed RX is already hitting showrooms in Japan, with a price bump across the range. So, no, this isn't a head-turning facelift, but Lexus has been busy under the surface and tossed in some extra kit. With the RX being such a big deal for Lexus, it's all about keeping the champ sharp rather than reinventing the wheel.Japan gets first dibs on the updated RX. Lexus hasn't spilled the beans on when other markets will see it, but odds are the refreshed SUV will hit the US sometime next year. For what it's worth, the 2027 RX has just landed in America with a new price tag.Lexus
