Li Auto has officially announced that the all-new Li Auto L8 will be launched on June 23, with the new model offering two trim levels: the Ultra version and the Livis version. Regarding the positioning of the new vehicle, Li Auto CEO Li Xiang previously stated at the 2026 Q1 earnings conference that the all-new L8 is essentially the five-seat version of the all-new L9, which is fundamentally different in nature from the previous-generation L8. The most visible change in the all-new Li Auto L8 lies in its body dimensions. New Li Auto L8 According to MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) filing information, the new vehicle measures 5135 × 2000 × 1800 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3045 mm. Compared with the current model’s dimensions of 5080 × 1995 × 1800 mm (wheelbase 3005 mm), the overall length has increased by 55 mm, the width by 5 mm, and the wheelbase by 40 mm. More critically, the redesigned spatial layout has significantly improved interior space utilization and practicality. According to official information, while retaining the dual zero-gravity seats in the front row, the all-new L8 innovatively features a connected zero-gravity bench seat in the second row, supporting a 55-degree recline angle. It is also equipped with magnetic lumbar pillows and heated leg rests, with the second-row cushion extended by 37 mm. New Li Auto L8 Additional comfort features include dual side tray tables in the second row, each with a vanity mirror above, a dual cup holder and wireless charging panel in the center armrest, and electric side window sunshades. The upgraded spatial experience is also reflected in the trunk, which offers 820 liters of cargo capacity—enough to accommodate 13 carry-on suitcases (20-inch). It also supports complete folding of the second row, ensuring versatility. In terms of powertrain, the company states that the all-new L8 is equipped with a 5C range-extending battery pack of 72.7 kWh, delivering 430 km of pure electric range and 1670 km of combined range, with a fuel consumption of 6.2 liters per 100 km. New Li Auto L8 Furthermore, the Ultra version comes standard with the wire-controlled Magic Carpet chassis. With wire-controlled steering and rear-wheel steering, the turning radius is only 5.1 meters. The Livis version, meanwhile, features an 800V active suspension, EMB (Electro-Mechanical Brake) wire-controlled braking system, and dual Mach M100 chips (2560 TOPS). Looking back at the market performance of the current L8, since deliveries began in November 2022, the model once became a popular choice in the 300,000–400,000 RMB segment, thanks to its precise family-oriented positioning and range-extending technology. As competition in the new energy SUV market intensified, the current L8’s product competitiveness gradually weakened. Entering the second half of 2025, the model could only maintain monthly sales of around 2,000 units, which further declined to an average of approximately 1,000 units per month in 2026. The data indicates that the Li Auto L8 requires a thorough generational upgrade to rebuild its market competitiveness. In the mid-to-large SUV segment, facing emerging popular models such as the NIO ES8 and the AITO M8, the competitive pressure on the all-new L8 should not be underestimated.
