Chevy resurrected Spark EUV nameplate with the launch of the all-new, affordable Chevy Spark EUV for 2026, with the hopes that its new, 220-mile range EV would be a “game changer” that helps accelerate the company’s EV transition in developing markets – and it’s now officially the best selling electric SUV in Brazil! Like its Baojun-badged siblings in China, the 2026 Chevrolet Spark EUV is powered by a single 75 kW (101 hp), 180 Nm (130 lb-ft) motor driving the front wheels. Power comes from the Baojun’s 42 kWh LFP battery that, paired with regenerative braking, is good for up to 360 km (220 miles) on the NEDC driving cycle. With a price range between R$ 144,990 and R$ 159,990 (~$32,000 US for the top trim levels), those specs have proven to be a compelling enough package to make it the best-selling electric SUV in Brazil, setting a new delivery record by surpassing 1,000 unit sales in April. “In April, the Chevrolet Spark EUV was the most popular electric SUV in Brazil. The Brazilian consumer has a great affinity for SUVs and is increasingly open to electricity,” says GM Brazil Commercial Director, Kleusner Lopes. “Our role is to offer a complete portfolio, which combines innovation, efficiency and competitive pricing with the assurance of a strong brand and a network prepared to serve this new moment in the industry.” Advertisement - scroll for more content Fabricado no Brasil GM Brazil invested the equivalent of $73 million to get the PACE factory ready to assemble GM’s modern, zero-emissions Chevy crossover for the South American and Middle Eastern markets – an investment big enough to earn a visit from Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for the kickoff event in December. The new Brazilian Spark EUV is equipped with a 10.1″ infotainment screen and 8.8″ digital instrument cluster that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard (technology that GM claims lead to “unsafe” driver behaviors in North America), along with relatively slow 50 kW charging speed that takes 30-ish minutes to get the little ute from 20-80%. Given those practical, usable everyday specs, practical body style, and relatively affordable price, there is almost no chance the Spark EUV will be given a chance in the US any time soon.
