Man Leaves Range Rover Unattended 1 Week While On Vacation. Then He Sees What It Looks Like

There are any number of things that can go wrong with your vehicle back home while you’re on vacation. It could get stolen, broken into, or damaged in a weather event, for example.
One man’s vehicular misfortune is particularly uncommon. His Range Rover turned into a petri dish on wheels after he left it unattended for a week.
TikTok user Eazy Racks (@eazyracksgg) posted a video of the disgusting havoc the mold wrought upon his vehicle.
“Came back from vacation to my Range Rover interior molded,” an AI-generated voice can be heard narrating in the TikTok. The state of the Range Rover’s interior is objectively horrific. Brown-hued fungus coats the steering wheel and seats of the luxury SUV, as if Swamp Thing took it for a drive.
Further examination of the ride reveals dangling stalactites of mold hanging from the top of the wheel. Additionally, the TikTok shows that the mold had spread through other areas of the car. Its rear seats, door armrests, and front passenger seats are coated with microorganisms.
What Causes Mold—And Can You Get Rid of It?
Liquid plus heat is a perfect recipe for a mold disaster, especially when trapped inside an enclosed environment. Food and other organic materials left inside a vehicle can culminate in a situation similar to Eazy Racks’s, according to auto detailer Car Detox.
One of the biggest culprits for mold growth in cars are structural leaks. Oftentimes, sunroofs can allow water to trickle into the vehicle’s cabin. Once there, it’s trapped inside what is effectively a greenhouse. If the area the car is parked in is humid, or hot, mold can quickly grow and spread.

Cleaning and restoration business iMold writes, “Food crumbs, carpet, fabric seats, skin cells, and dust can all provide food for mold spores.” The business adds that exposure to mold is “a potentially serious health hazard.”
To get rid of mold spores, iMold recommends donning safety goggles, gloves, and an N95 mask. Then remove and clean all items from the vehicle. Following this, the company then encourages concerned car owners to “vacuum thoroughly” and use a cleaning solution. Then dry and ventilate the interior.
The last step, iMold advises, is to clean the car’s air vents. They recommend purchasing an “antifungal cleaner” after blasting the air conditioning system on high. Finally, car owners should spray an antifungal cleaner into the AC intake valves.
What Happened to the Range Rover?
Eazy Racks subsequently posted an update on the status of his car. Instead of electing to take a flamethrower to the vehicle, he had its interior thoroughly cleaned. “The mold was visibly removed with ozone treatment and detailed,” he writes in a caption of the clip.
He shows that the interior does indeed appear completely free of mold.

Still, he’s not 100% convinced it’s a good idea to hop in and take it for a spin.
“Y’all trust it?” he asks.
Several people who commented agreed that getting back in the Range Rover was a bad idea. “I would never trust that car again,” one said. Another remarked, “Nahh that AC blasting mold in my nose.”
Someone else said that they thought there was more mold lurking within the vehicle, nestled in its nooks and crannies. “That mold definitely under that leather,” they stated.
One person recommended that he “sell it immediately.” Another suggested that he mark the car down as a total wreck. “Absolutely not. If you have GAP [insurance], should’ve just considered it totaled.”
